My big boy Kalen helps out the Venice High School Gondoliers at a tournament in Sylmar. I've never really shot volleyball before so this was definitely a learning experience. The good news: you're not out getting scorched by the sunshine - the bad news: the indoor strip lighting is pretty nasty. And there's no room to shoot. We're in a gymnasium so sports photographers must have figured this one out. I'm learning on the fly. And you have to have your wits about you. Taking photographs at a high school volleyball tournament means dodging the ball yourself.
